My ink color work |

Here are my ink color paintings. The ink color painting is a tradition manner of Chinese painting art. It has three major subject, bird and flower painting, landscape painting and portrait painting, and has two manner, free brush and fine line. My understand to Chinese tradition painting which is self-establish peculiar system. Combined perfectly the poetry,picture, seal and calligraphy together is Chinese tradition painting character, and formed into a whole style with each other of influencing and interaction. Such whole art style, especially masters's painting exhibits clearly chinese art taste. Painter's feeling reveals incisively and vividly throught of Poetry and painting by painter created. Thereout,poetry is complement to picture. Such art style is different from oil painting and other painting on its aesthetics,artistic style and technique. Unfortunately Chinese poetry, especially in archaism poetry,which is an important part of Chinese tradition painting. It wasn't kept well because of colloquialism of applying abroad. Today such whole painting style was gone. For me on my art career, I profited from a master, who was Gaoxishun.After I finished my study at my college and I followed Gaoxishun master for years. My master kept well a charater of Chinese tradition painting.His art opened an unexplored stylistic avenue to me. Using ink and brushwork is the basic of Chinese tradition painting, and doesn't has depth theory. I have gotten a knack from Gaoxishun. With regard to ink and brushwork, especially in XiYi ( splashing of ink) Gaoxishun master did a very simple example, which must be dipped ink or color a side of the brush and added more water on the other side of brush, not washing the brush until ink was used out on brush on drawing process. A gradus of ink from pale to deepest black, and from dry to wet, a colorful change was appeared naturally on paper with brush moving. Any correct on drawing process would demolished the gradus of ink. It's Gao Xishun master's manner, a knack. So Gao Xishun was quite capable of using ink,color and water in his art. He taught his students. I began to training as a beginner although I studied four years at my college. Drawing line and circle on paper was the basic of the subject by Gao Xishun's manner, and line was live and forcedful drawed through training of basic. Spending long time discipline of basic, without effort I could control my brush moving on a thin and absorded paper with more ink and water. I like bird and flower painting of subject in Xiyi manner, a kind of free brush.I favored to draw "water lily" of subject with manner of splashing ink. The wonderful cadence of ink preoccupied me often. Ink is colorful with water interaction.
Generally there is two steps to study Chinese painting, that the
first learning is Gongbi, which is a kind of fine brushwork, then Xiyi brushwork．
In fact I began to learn Xiyi manner under Gao Xishun taught.I have found an exactitude manner, not be binded up by the step of the learning.
